I’m a trained yoga therapist and if you’re taking a private class because of an injury or medical condition I plan around your specific needs. Students suffering from back pain, sciatica, arthritis, chronic fatigue or diabetes have said that they benefit from yoga.
My emphasis is to bring movement and breath into the body in whatever way suits the person or group I’m teaching. When students feel energetic we work with dynamic postures and sequences followed by a period of relaxation. If students are tired or need to unwind we spend more time stretching, holding poses, breathing and doing restorative yoga.
My classes are attended by beginners and also by experienced yoga practitioners. I enjoy a class where people feel free to ask questions or make comment about the yoga they’re doing.
The poses and modifications I use mean that my classes can be safely enjoyed by all regardless of age and ability. I don’t adhere to any one style of yoga but I have taken inspiration from some excellent teachers over the years.
